(ANSA) – ROMA, 19 AGO – having examined the documentation and the relevant evidence, the president of the Chamber of investigation of the independent ethics committee of Fifa has decided to close the file open on the allegations to the president, Gianni Infantino: “the reason why, “the evident lack of a case prima facie concerning alleged violations of the Code of ethics of Fifa” by Infantino. On the basis of the information available today, said the president in a note, “no aspect of the conduct that is analyzed is a violation of the Fifa regulations – some aspects are not covered even in the provisions of the Code of ethics, nor justify the adoption of any measure, including that of a provisional suspension”. After reports appeared on a number of sources in the media since last may, the president of the chamber of investigation of the ethics Committee of Fifa had launched a preliminary investigation into some allegations concerning Infantino. The sources have made reference to several violations of the Code of ethics of Fifa on the part of the n.1 of the football Federation of the world, which include booking a private flight from Suriname to Geneva, and the meetings of Infatino with Michael Lauber, attorney general of the swiss Confederation. Pursuant to article 59 of the Code of ethics of Fifa, the president of the Chamber of investigation has opened a preliminary investigation on the basis of the accusations. Meetings between a qualified lawyer and the attorney general of switzerland, have already been the subject of an investigation by a special prosecutor of the federal swiss Stefan Keller.
