In the wake of the release of The Witcher Netflix and the new version of the Switch of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the third installment of the series, the RPG of CD Projekt Red has recorded another fantastic year in 2019.
CD Projekt has recently released its financial report of 2019 and spoke in detail of the sales of The Witcher 3. Overall, last year was the second best year of the game in terms of sales after 2015, the year in which it was launched for the title. Of the more than five million copies of The Witcher 3 sold in 2019, 53% of these were sold on the PC, the 26% on the PS4, 11% on the Switch, and the 10% on the Xbox One.
While CD Projekt has not provided any sales numbers specific to the outside of some large graphs, the Twitter user @DarkDetectiveNL has discovered the total more precise. In total, The Witcher 3 has sold approximately 28 million copies, which is quite impressive.
In addition, the version for Nintendo Switches on the game has sold roughly 700,000 copies since its release until the end of 2019.
