While a good part of the planet is confined to her home to try to contain the pandemic Coronavirus, the internet networks have never been asked. Also, to avoid overheating, many great actors have agreed to reduce their flows in some countries. YouTube and Netflix are the first to have shown the way and other companies following in greece’s footsteps. Indeed, it is the case of Sony Interactive Entertainment that comes from cracking a message on the PlayStation Blog, indicating the drop in downloads in order to preserve access to the internet for the entire PlayStation community. Jim Ryan, the CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, explains the interest to limit the flux to avoid saturation :
We are convinced that it is particularly important that we do what we can to help manage the stability problems of the internet that occur while an unprecedented number of people involved in the containment and social becomes increasingly dependent on its access to the internet.
Players will see their games downloads to slow down or experience delays, but will nevertheless experience a solid game. We appreciate the support and understanding shown by our community, and we thank them for doing what is necessary on their side so that everyone can enjoy access to the internet without interruption.
We must therefore expect to put in pause for our downloads or drops connection during multiplayer games. Measures necessary therefore, forcing us to show conciliatory : it is our well-being during this total containment.
