In one week exactly, from 27 February to 1 march 2020, PAX East will take place in the mythical american city of Boston : a nice program is planned with, in particular, the presence of Sony and squarely The Last of Us Part. II, playable on the terminals during a nice session of several hours. Well, this was before the firm publishes a message to the less alarming since its PlayStation Blog :
Sony Interactive Entertainment has made the decision to cancel his participation at PAX East in Boston this year because of the COVID-19 (also known under the name “coronavirus”). We thought that this was the safest option, the situation is changing on a daily basis. We are very disappointed not to come to this event but the health and safety of our workforce is our greatest concern.
There, I said it. However, the epidemic not being present on american soil, one might wonder why such a drastic decision : it would seem that Sony is definitely cooled from participating in the fairs of Uncle Sam. On the way, Naughty Dog said it is saddened by the absence of Sony at PAX East, reassuring however the community stating they have a lot to say about The Last of Us 2 by its output, may 29th on PS4.
