Overwatch 2 will present a series of new faces with unique abilities unlike any of the mechanics of the multiplayer of the original game (via the PlayStation Blog).
Speaking with the PS blog, the assistant game director Aaron Keller explained how the team will continue the legacy of “incredibly compelling” of Overwatch 1. “We will be able to explore more of this universe by playing this game in a completely new way, through missions against the AI rather than games against other players,” he said. The story missions and the missions of the heroes will strengthen the lore from the existing and introducing new narratives, but much of the charm of the Overwatch 1 resided in a different list of heroes.
Keller has assured that “there has never been any intention to abandon that side of the game” and that there will be newcomers and veterans in Overwatch 2. “We have a lot of heroes in development currently for Overwatch 2,” he revealed . “We can’t say who they are exactly, or how it could be their gameplay, but they will help to complete the world of Overwatch and give us new game mechanics that we have not yet seen.” While the heroes are known to be customizable with new mechanics, leveling up, and updates to their skills.
The key aspect of the new heroes is the one that has spoken to the director of Overwatch , Jeff Kaplan at BlizzCon 2019. Although in the months that you do not there will be a lot of content, it will be a game of “large impact”. In addition, Kaplan does not know when it will be released Overwatch 2. “I know that is a poor response, I’m very sorry, and this is not something top secret that we don’t want to say to the players. It’s just that we don’t know,” he said.
“The important thing for us Blizzard, in all of our games, is that the game is great, and the players say ‘Yes, this is ready and now is the time’. I don’t have a precise date, will not be this year, and this is quite safe.”
