Sony has announced that at the end of January it will close its video service streaming TV PlayStation Vue.

The closure of PlayStation Vue will be precisely on 30 January 2020.

Sony has attributed its decision to “the highly competitive field of Pay TV and the expensive content offerings and networking that come with it.

Users of the PlayStation will still have access to TV and movies through the PlayStation Store on the PS4 and through partnership with other apps.

PlayStation Vue is launched in 2015, with more than 75 channels. Allowed users of PlayStation 3 and PS4 to watch tv programs live or on-demand without the need of a cable subscription.

Subsequently, the service has expanded to PC, Mac, Roku, iOS, Amazon Fire and Android devices.
