The Last of Us Part 2, between realism and emotions: gay sex in Dog comments on the gameplay

After showing the Demo of The Last of Us Part 2 to the press and announced the release date of the game, the team of Naughty Dog back on the ones that will be the characteristics of the gameplay, directly from the pages of the PlayStation Blog.

In a long speech, Neil Druckmann commented on the evolution of Ellie and of the Infected, but also the approach adopted by the team to create the right mix between realism and conveyance of emotions. Using the range of input that can be offered via a controller, Naghty Dog has tried to find a balance between the two elements. By way of example, are indicated, as are the opponents, culled from Ellie in the Demo: the number of enemies defeated by Ellie, is not realistic, but was chosen in order to create the right tension.

An element that the team has chosen to show in detail the care and improvement of weapons. The latter, in the world of The Last of Us Part 2 are, in fact, a key element for survival: “[…] approach much, the camera, and show the weapons and how you work to improve them – to make you feel the bond that he has with these instruments of death, in some way. What it means to survive in this world.” Druckmann has also reaffirmed the willingness of emotionally involved with the player, showing the consequences of every action. In this view, is the attribution of a name to every opponent that we will have to face up to and the implementation of a system of communication between the latter, with the aim of they do not perceive the player as a simple NPC.

Recently, Troy Baker, interpreter, Joel, has ensured that what was shown of TLOU 2 has been chosen carefully: Neil Druckmann, in a final message he has emphasized this element. In spite of the Demo and the new story trailer, he assured, “We were very careful not to give spoilers on the story and what makes it special, and what twist and turns are in store. Simply can’t wait for us to play”.
