Magic The Gathering: revealed the stages that lead up to the World Championship

Finally has been revealed the path that will bring the players of the card game physical in the world championship of Magic: The Gathering 2020.The Magic: The Gathering Players Tour will have over $ 2.5 million in the prize pool and will be divided into three distinct events.

The new path for the professional players of MTG (attention, in this case we are talking about the card game on paper) will take place during the first week of February 2020 and dipanerà in events in Belgium (Brussels), Japan (Nagoya) and United States (in Phoenix).

These will be the maxi tournaments useful to be able to earn the place in the world finals. The players, to be able to access these three stages, however, will need to attend the various regional events organized by Wizards of the Coast.

The competitive circuit of the game board will be structured as follows: Players Tour Qualifiers; WPN Qualifier; Grand Prix Tournament; Magic Online Events.

In Europe, the first Tour will be from 1 February to 2 February , and will present a prize pool of $ 200,000.

Asia-Pacific: from 1 February to 2 February, will have a prize pool of $ 150,000.

United states: from8 February to 9 February, the prize pool of $ 250,000.

MTG Arena, instead, will pass through the Mythic Invitational, which will be held three times per season and will have a prize pool of $ 750,000 each.

The Players Tour of the format of the table and the Mythic Invitational MTG Arena will offer double the seats of the qualifying players from all over the world, significantly increasing the opportunities of the game for both formats. According to Wizards of the Coast, and then each event will allow approximately 500 players to prove themselves to earn a place in the World Championship MTG.

In short, the future of MTG – print or digital – can only be rosy.
