Digital Bros Game Academy has announced, with the ceremony held yesterday, 10 September 2019, with the opening of the 5th academic year 2019/2020.
89 new members from 16 regions of Italy have made their entrance into the Academy, to welcome the General Director & Co-Founder of the DBGA Geoffrey Davis and the staff. There are 26 students enrolled in the course Game Design, 24 the allowed to to Game Programming, 19, aspiring Game Artist 3D and 20 students of the new course Concept Art for video games.
During the ceremony, were given 8 Scholarships to the most deserving candidates offered by Acer, thanks to the important partnership between the two companies for the development of new projects, by Digital Bros and the same DBGA.
The 5th year of DBGA begins with important news. First of all, the opening of the course in Concept Art for video games with what the Academy is expanding its offering. Christian Steve Scampini, a well-known Concept Artist, illustrator and cartoonist with twenty years of career in the artistic field, half of which is spent in the video game world by working with companies at the forefront of the industry, is at the head of the course. Christian, to be assisted by Tiziana Buonvicino, Concept Artist and illustrator freelancer, who will play the role of Assistant Core Trainer. Tiziana has worked with various realities of indie development, including 34BigThings on the title “Readout”, with RuneHeads for “Fall of Light”, and in Polymad Games for “Parallel”. He has also held the role of Lead Artist in the team, Not A Number and has worked on productions of video games for sale on all the major platforms, including Steam and Nintendo Switch.
Dario Deponti, is the new Core Trainer of the course of Game Design. Dario, a Game Designer and User Experience Designer at the Studio, Clang, consolidated reality of development specialized in the adaptation of board games to the digital world, has collaborated with the main players of the sector including Asmodee Digital, Cranio Creations, and Horrible Games, and has worked for Mixel. Dario Deponti takes over from Simone Magni and Andrea Basilio. Confirmed, respectively, to the guide of courses in Game Programming and Game Art 3D, Alberto Barbati and Maximum Renamed.
