Elden Ring has been unveiled officially by From Software toE3 2019, but the title still remains shrouded in mystery. Some fans have speculated that the name given to the game may draw inspiration from the Lord of The Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien, but the theory has been readily disproved by a Hidetak Miyazaki during an interview released to IGN.
“The Lord of the Rings is the fantasy novel, more classic, and of course Elden Ring is influenced to a certain extent, but not in a direct way”, said the japanese author, adding that the term “ring” is used in the context of the “circle”.
“The Elden Ring is a mysterious and a key element in the foundation of the world that we have created. Shape the rules and the pace of this world. But as you can see in our trailer, went in tatters”.
In our preview of Elden Ring at E3 2019, Aligi Comandini wrote: “Elden Ring is a game in which we have expectations monstrous based solely on trust (in our opinion, well placed) in the From the Software, and the unpredictable potential of a partnership between the unfathomable minds of Miyazaki and Martin. Also in front of a trailer so small it is impossible not esaltarci and try to analyze every single detail, you will want to as well say something. The few info leaked directly from the president From, however, not make us want even more this mysterious title, and we can’t wait to be able to analyze the gameplay to be near.”
