This week Respawn Entertainment has introduced the Octane, that new character has been added to the roster of Apex Legends in conjunction with the arrival of the Season 1.

In the meantime, some fans have noticed that the source of inspiration for the background of the subject is linked to the community of the speedrunner of Titanfall 2.

The reference would, in fact, the user Cash-Mayo, world record holder for having completed the Gauntlet of Titanfall 2 in just twelve seconds; a feat made possible taking advantage of the propulsion generated by some grenades, as you can see in the video is available at this address.

Let us read now the first part of the official description of Octane provided by the developers: “One day, Octavio Silva was bored. In reality, you are bored forever. The son of the busy managing director of Silva Pharmaceuticals and grew up in the club, loved to perform incredible stunts and post holographic video to fascinate her fans. Now he has decided that he wants to establish the new record in a race of obstacles, by jumping over the finish line with… a grenade.” As you can see, the history of Octane is referring to the speedrun done by Cash Mayo.

In the video below you can see all the novelties of the Season 1 of Apex Legends. In recent days, Respawn Entertainment has responded to the criticisms from some players, not very satisfied of the content offered.
