Daisuke Sato, producer of Yakuza Studio, and Hiroshi Matsuyama, president of CyberConnect 2, commented on the recent suspension of sales of its Judgment on the japanese market following the events involving Pierre Taki.
As we reported last march 13, the actor was arrested by japanese authorities to their use of cocaine. SEGA took immediate action by suspending the sale of the game, while Square Enix has announced that it will change the voice of the character of Olaf in Kingdom Hearts 3, because interpreted by Taki.
A few hours after the position of the SAW, Sato chimed in on Twitter, and he hinted not to be in agreement with the line dictated by the publisher, basically because the professional activity of Taki and the events that have concerned at a personal level should stay on two separate floors.
In the meantime, Hiroshi Matsuyama of CyberConncect 2 has criticized companies that decide to cease the marketing of a product in cases of this type.
Judgment is available in japan since last December 13, and should arrive in the west on 25 June 2019, exclusively on PS4. At the moment it is still too early to tell if recent events will have consequences on the arrival of the title in our shops. According to reports Takashi Mochizuki of the Wall Street Journal, SEGA would still not have taken a final decision.
